We tear off to the deck, replace any rot, lay synthetic underlayment with proper overlap, ice-and-water every valley and eave, and fasten every shingle to exact manufacturer specification (four nails minimum, six in the wind zone). The job takes one day longer than the competition. The roof lasts twice as long.
