The bungalows and shotgun houses often have a low-slope front that needs a real membrane system, not three tabs of shingle thrown over an old built-up roof. The two-family flats have flat parapet-wall roofs where the coping and the wall flashing are the first thing to fail. We do the flat work right, and where there is a steeper gabled section we run architectural asphalt or matched slate. Most of our work on The Hill is honest, no-drama replacement: a sound membrane on the flat sections, correct flashing at the parapets and the chimney, and ridge ventilation brought up to spec on the gabled homes.
